John Mitchell, a founding principal of Resolute, is a career work-out professional who brings more than 20 years’ experience in problem resolution, receivership, bankruptcy and corporate turnaround expertise to the firm. Mr. Mitchell’s background includes extensive knowledge in asset recovery and disposition, forensic investigations and business operations and restructuring. Throughout his career, Mr. Mitchell has been a court-appointed fiduciary of nearly $1.5B in assets and has managed nearly 350 matters in both State and Federal Courts.

Prior to forming Resolute, Mr. Mitchell was the regional managing director at Douglas Wilson Companies where he was responsible for the management and execution of many court-appointed receiverships and bankruptcy projects for various operating companies, fraud and Ponzi schemes.  Mr. Mitchell also worked as a senior asset manager at U-Haul International, Inc., where he was responsible for all aspects of loan and REO portfolio management.

Mr. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and past treasurer of the California Receiver’s Forum and California Bankruptcy Forum.
